Cattelan Italia

A coat hanger is a practical addition to your hallway.  It is a means of keeping your hallway looking tidy. Generally, when entertaining, in the absence of a coat hanger one would end up with a mound of coats and jackets piled up on an armchair or bed.

With the above in mind, I went out to look for the perfect coat hanger to use in a project I am currently working on. Cattelan Italia at Dino Fino Home offered this state of the art coat hanger by the name of Oscar designed by Angelo Tomaiuolo.

Giorgio and Silvia Cattelan founded the company in 1979 and over the years Cattelan Italia has grown to become one of the leading Italian companies in the furniture sector.

Oscar is a simplistic coat hanger which fits perfectly in a hallway or bedroom, and offers enough hanging space for coats and jackets, both for the family and guests.

This beautiful coat hanger, is made from six uniquely angled lengths of  either Canaletto walnut or burnt oak wood and sits on a travertine base. This design conveys an artistic approach to storage.

Coat hangers are usually rather boring, but the Oscar coat hanger is all except that! This design piece follows the aesthetic of modern pieces blended with traditional accuracy, making of it a true marvel to behold.

Portmeirion

I am sure that a lot of you are aware of Portmeirion pottery. This is a long standing name which was established in 1960 by Susan Williams-Ellis.  Susan and her husband Euan Copper-Willis began Portmeirion pottery in 1960.

Susan’s first designs were indicative of her fondness for angular designs.

In 1972, Susan launched the Botanic Garden collection, which grew into a signature design for the company and is still extremely popular today. The collection features illustrations of flowers, plants, insects and butterlflies, alongside the English and Latin names next to the pictures.

What I love most about Portmeirion is their contemporary style, making them look inkeeping with any kitchen style and décor.

Many of my friends have Botanic Garden tableware in their kitchens, whereas my favourite design has always been Pomona, of which I have one large and one smaller  salad bowls which I am proud to say have been staples in my kitchen since 1983!

Portmeirion Botanic Garden Harmony is a new addition for 2019 and brings a modern twist to the iconic Botanic Garden collection. Featuring beautifully embossed detail on a classic pattern of warm colors along with exquisite butterfly motifs, Botanic Garden Harmony can be layered in to complement the original Botanic Garden collection or stand perfectly on its own creating a beautiful, breathtaking tablesetting.

Their teapots, and other items of tableware, have become incredibly popular as collectors’ items, as well as for use in the dining room and kitchen.

Whether you are looking for full sets, individual items of kitchenware and dining ware, or appealing Portmeirion pottery collectables, there are some beautiful and stunning designs available for you from Gio.Batta Delia 1901.

Emerald artificial flower supplier

On my regular visits to Alistair Floral Design I have had to smell the flowers which they import exclusively from Emerald artificial flower supplier, thinking they were real 🌷

Artificial flowers are especially ideal for people who suffer from allergies or busy lifestyles. They have such a realistic appearance, are easy to maintain and most importantly, they can last for many years. I love real flowers, but most of us cannot afford a number of fresh floral arrangements replaced once a week or more. In the end, you do what works best for you.

For many, the idea of faux flowers brings back memories of tacky, plastic orchids and lilies. But over the last few years, with the quality of artificial flowers and houseplants improving seriously, those who were against the idea of faux flowers are getting on board with it.

As an interior designer, I love using flowers to add the perfect finishing touch to a design project before the big unveil. I love getting imaginative and with Alistair’s help we ensure to create a lasting impact on the overall design.

Emerald constantly challenge themselves to create state-of-the-art collections which fit in the latest trends and consumer needs. In Spring/Summer 2019 we will be seeing a lot of tropical and green plants, together with stunning bamboos. Pastels will be used to create soft and subtle settings.

Alistair and his team are always looking to design the most beautiful settings in their showroom. It feels just like you are walking around a flower market.
