The ultimate vegan BBQ

It’s true, summer barbecues can be tricky to navigate if you’re following a vegan diet or if you’ve invited vegan guests over for a night of scrumptious food and delicious drinks, however with just a bit of imagination, some tips from the Bull BBQ Europe team and a few of Bea’s favourite recipes, it’s actually super simple to knock up fast, tasty, meat-free night. Here’s all you need to know to host a phenomenal evening of vegan delight.

Bea’s favourite BBQ

First things first. You’re after the perfect grill and Bea’s preferred BBQ is as perfect as it gets. She loves entertaining, has a weakness for BBQ deliciousness so without further delay, here’s which model has stolen her heart.

Whether you’re cooking for two on the balcony of a city flat or hosting a sizzling extravaganza for family and friends in a garden somewhere in the countryside, there are barbecues to suit all spaces and budgets. If you’re still on the look-out for your perfect BBQ, consider ease of use, preferred flavours and how many people you will be cooking for, as this will determine the size you need and whether gas or charcoal is best. The Menu

With their full-on flavour and meaty texture, suitable for the grill, these completely vegan loaded burgers are an absolute must at any barbecue! From BBQ Tofu to Cauliflower Steak, look what they’re suggesting here and finally, grill master and culinary pro, Jamie Olivier has a collection of vegan recipes which are keepers.

For her spice loving guests, Bea follows Jamie’s advice and grills a bunch of chillies until sweet and juicy, then chop and mix them with fresh mint, lemon juice and good olive oil for an epic, spicy dressing – great for salads or marinating veg as they’re sizzling on the barbecue. And while we’re talking about Salad Dressings, Bea’s come up with a winner thanks to Dical House – you’ll love this easy recipe!

If you want to make an impression on arrival, an aperitif like Bea’s very own Pina Colada with a healthy twist will impress.


Food Network has a list of absolutely scrumptious vegan desserts non-vegans will love too! They’ll promise to please any palate – guaranteed while our friends at present not 1, not 2 but 10 mouth-watering vegan desserts to serve at a BBQ some of them are frozen treats you can prepare in advance, others make the most of summer ingredients and others still can be slapped right on the BBQ and grilled before your eyes.

The Ambience

Depending on the size of your space, have a table for guests to eat at and a side table to serve up drinks and food. Bea loves to stick to a colour theme and for a nice finishing touch, decorate tables with floral centrepieces – you can’t go wrong if our friend Alistair is in your corner, however, if this BBQ feast is a last-minute do, scatter flower petals across the table for a beautiful floral display.

Last but definitely not least – lighting is crucial. Gone are the days of bulky outdoor lights – new, lightweight technology means that lights can be easily moved to be placed according to need – and if there’s no power supply nearby – no problem.
