I recently had the pleasure of joining Pauline on Indhouse to explore the interior design trends redefining our homes and creative projects. It was such an inspiring conversation — one that touched on what’s next for colour, texture, and the way we live in our spaces.
From colour palettes to materials and mood, here are some of the key ideas we discussed — illustrated with a few of the looks that best capture these evolving trends.

Rich, vivid tones return — consider dark blues, terracotta, and moss green — adding depth and elegance to spaces. These colors create a feeling of serene assurance and complement natural materials such as wood and marble. The focus is on showcasing individuality through color palette.

Minimalism is evolving. Rather than stark, white spaces, we’re seeing warm minimalism — where muted tones, layered fabrics, and soft shapes make simplicity feel inviting. It’s about creating quiet luxury through balance, texture, and comfort.

Designers are prioritising sustainability not just as a buzzword, but as a lifestyle choice. Expect to see marble, wood, and limewash finishes that celebrate natural imperfection. These tactile materials add both grounding and luxury, giving interiors a timeless feel that ages gracefully.

There’s a renewed affection for spaces that feel lived-in and loved. Wood flooring is making a strong return, replacing the cooler grey palettes of recent years with warmer, more natural tones. These floors ground a space and bring a sense of authenticity that pairs beautifully with handcrafted décor and vintage accents.
This move toward sentimental design — blending modern comfort with nostalgic charm — reflects our growing desire for homes that feel warm, welcoming, and timeless.

Accessories are where a room truly comes to life. Lately, we’ve seen the return of tortoiseshell — that classic, mottled pattern once reserved for vintage pieces is now making its way back into trays, candleholders, and bar accessories. It’s a subtle way to add warmth and texture while keeping things elegant and contemporary.

Green continues to dominate — from sage to forest shades — symbolising renewal, nature, and wellbeing. When paired with brass or natural wood, it evokes a serene, grounded elegance perfect for kitchens and bathrooms alike.

After years of pared-back neutrals, florals are making a confident return — from statement wallpapers to soft furnishings and accessories. These patterns bring life, movement, and optimism into a space, reminding us that nature-inspired design never truly goes out of style. Whether subtle or bold, floral motifs can transform a room with warmth and personality, creating a home that feels both uplifting and timeless.
Design in 2025 is all about balance — between innovation and nostalgia, sustainability and style, comfort and individuality.
As we step into this new season, remember that your home doesn’t have to follow trends; it can simply be an evolving reflection of you.
If you’d like to explore how these ideas could translate into your own home, feel free to book a personal interior design consultation — I’d love to help bring your vision to life.
